J. Garth Stauffer, MD, PC
Dr. Stauffer holds a B.S. in Biology from
Gonzaga University in Spokane,Washington,
and earned his medical degree from the
University Of Louisville Medical School in
Louisville, Kentucky. After completing his
residency at the Anniston Family Practice
Residency Program in 1985, he became a
partner in Auburn Family Care, a family
practice/urgent care center, in Auburn, Alabama.
In 1996 he established Alabama Occupational
Medicine, an independent occupational medicine practice, and joined
Hughston Occupational Medicine in 1997.
After a seven year partnership with the Hughston Clinic Occupational Medicine service,
Alabama Occupational Medicine was refounded and relocated to its
present location in April 2005.
Board certified in Family Practice, Dr. Stauffer has completed a master’s
degree in preventive medicine and public health from the Medical
College of Wisconsin. He is a certified Medical Review Officer and
Aviation Medical Examiner and holds memberships in the American
College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the American
Medical Association, and the Medical Association of the State of
Alabama. His areas of special interest include substance abuse/drug
testing and ergonomics.
He is married to Dr. Cathleen Giustino, an associate professor of
history at Auburn University. Dr. Stauffer is an active member of the
Auburn Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and the Auburn Kiwanis club.
He enjoys exercising, outdoor activities and day hiking.
